NMKR, the world’s leading brand to enable NFT interaction on Cardano, today announced the start of the Budjo.io platform as the first launchpad offering fractional art NFTs on the Cardano blockchain. The project is going to launch alongside arguably the most anticipated fair for high value collectors - Art Basel in Miami. As the crowds converge at the Miami Beach Convention Center with 253 galleries representing 36 countries, the enigmatic Gallerist Rudolf Budja will be unveiling a truly ground-breaking prospect, to become the most exciting, avant-garde NFT-Art investor launchpad for collectors and investors of all standings.

Location: Art Basel, Miami

Opening hours: Thursday, December 2, 11am to 7pm; Friday, December 3, 11am to 7pm; Saturday, December 4, 2021, 11am to 6pm

Budja.io is set to connect both the art and Cardano crypto communities in one exclusive place. Artworks such as paintings, photographs or sculptures will be tokenized and offered as fractionalized NFTs. Through the fractionalization, small, affordable investments in exclusive artists such as Andy Warhol are available without actually buying or owning a total piece.

This platform will remove previous barriers to entry for art lovers such as having to purchase the whole piece in its physical form, and opens the doors to those who are inclined to collect art but too often miss out on the sale or are often priced out. However, the grandeur and exclusivity is retained through scarcity, with only 499 ‘pieces’ of each piece of art being available to the public. In addition, in order to participate, collectors will require annual Gold and Platinum memberships that will be available for purchase at launch and each will provide exceptional benefits for art collectors such as access to exclusive sales and private events. The Black membership is invite only.

The NMKR team responsible for bringing this futuristic vision to life are already responsible for over 25% of all NFTs minted on Cardano, having surpassed 400k NFTs being launched using their technology. “Budja.io brings the art and crypto communities together in a very special and unique way,” said Patrick Tobler, CEO of NMKR. “Enabling people worldwide to step into art and implementing the most innovative and sustainable financial format for artists at the same time marks the next evolution of the art scene.”

Rudolf Budja added: “Much like the founder of Bitcoin, who solved the problem of moving money in a secure and decentralized way, we are doing the same with art. NFTs will make the transfer of art more transparent, more secure and verifiable, benefitting the artist more than ever before. This opens up a variety of opportunities for both established personalities as well as newcomers to the art scene.”
